WELCOME TO ISLE OF MAN GOLF
The 3rd round of the Dandara Junior Order of Merit was held this Sunday at Mount Murray Golf Club. The weather was quite as kind to the juniors as it had been the previous round, but with some windy conditions some great scores were recorded.
In the Under 18’s, 18-Hole competition it was Peel’s Anna Dawson with a 73 Gross/73 Nett who took 1st place on the day from Douglas’s Tommy Fenlon with a round of 75 Gross/72 Nett.
It was another win for Jenna Crawford from Mount Murray, in the Under 14’s, 18-hole Competition with a round of 101 Gross/67 Nett from club mate Freddie Dancox who shot 84 Gross/73 Nett for second.
In the 9 -hole Competition it was Jack Higgins from Ramsey who came out on top with 15 points, from Mount Murray’s Kase Phinney on 13 points.
Whilst in the 6 Hole Competition 4 players tied for the top spot with 15 points each, after a count back done on the last three holes played it was Ramsey’s Lewis Hartley who took the honours from Emily Dooley from Douglas.
The flag competition was a very close contest with Theo Kiernan from Rowany finishing just an inch from the 7th Hole with his 36 Shots just piping Daniel Keiver from Peel who was on the 7th green.
The President Elect of the Golf Union Niall Keenan was on hand to give the prizes to the winners and many thanks again went to Dandara for sponsoring the competition. There is a break now for a little while and the next Dandara Junior Order of Merit is on Sunday 5th August at Douglas Golf Club, we look forward to seeing you all there.
